I'm Mjumbe Poe, a developer with the Civic Works team at OpenPlans. Frank
Hebbert (Civic Works director) pointed me to the public meetings video
recently and I found the ideas in it very similar to a project we've been
working on. The project is still in an early state, but it is available at
http://meetingmatters.org. Right now, it is a community-editable directory
of public meetings. Citizens can filter the meetings by topic or place,
and subscribe to these filtered lists by rss or ical.
Again, it's an early-stage version, and we haven't tried to get people
seriously entering information yet. We'd love to get peoples thoughts and
ideas.
It's Django, and the source is available at:
https://github.com/openplans/meetingmatters/
To get an idea of the features we're thinking about for the future, check
out the icebox at:

If you have any questions about it, please let us know.
Thanks!
