address residents issues on the estate, especially about the dangerous A40
Northway/Barton link road. I can no longer sit by and listen to our so called
Labour counsellor pretending that he actually cares about the suffering of the
residents on Foxwell drive and nearby roads who are having to deal with the
constant noise and pollution from the construction vehicles, this going on day
and night . He after all is directly responsible for their suffering due to his
promotion of this dangerous and illegal link road being hastily at present.
The Oxford city council with the developers Barton LLP have broken so many laws
to get this dangerous link road approved and passed. Firstly Steve Sprason
appropriated Foxwell drive for planning purposes by saying it was no longer
needed for it's purpose of recreation. This was a complete untruth as we proved
from our Town green application that it was and still is needed for it's
original purpose. The Barton LLP have ignored the police report on the dangers
posed on the A40 I quote from Mark Bhagwandin 'The stretch of the A40 between
Headington roundabout and Cuttslowe roundabout has accounted for at least 27
serious accidents, 2 of them fatal. Another law that was broken was the
chopping down of Jane Cox's precious trees (that were planted for environmental
and ecological purposes), during the bird nesting season last year.
Let me continue, no separate environmental impact assessment was done on
Foxwell drive or Northway. No archeological assessment was done despite it
being admitted to Mark that Northway is of archeological interest. No equality
assessment has been done. The list goes on and on of all the laws they've
broken.
At present the case has now been passed by Mark Bhagwandin the conservative
candidate for Northway way, to High ways England for investigation, we owe him
a massive thank you for his huge help with this matter. While we are waiting
for high ways England to make a decision we the residents of Northway are going
to get together and try to get this road stopped in it's tracts due to the
noise nuisance etc. Watch this space Oxford city council and developers we will
try and make sure you won't get away with your wrong doings.
