Subject: In defense of Boomers
I started a new thread in response to the cheap shots at Mark Andrew simply
because of the year he was born (in other words his age).
As us so called BBers get into our 60βs , we are seeking ways to contribute and
stay active for the next twenty years or so. For many of us it means more
volunteering, or consulting, or writing or gardening, and yes, more political
activism. We have years of experience, knowledge expertise, and now some time
to give, so, if one of us is willing to run for office, God bless em.
Given what we ask of, and do to our elected officials, I believe that it is
service of a valuable kind, or at least it can be.
I have told Gary Schiff (sorry for misspelling his name in a previous post)
that I would support him, but , as my friend Wizard says, this has really got
me honked off!
If people continue to offend and spread their ageist poison, I may have to
support my good friend Mark Andrew just out of solidarity.
We are here, and more and more of us are going to have a lot more time in the
next couple of decades, so as much as you might wish we are going away, we do
have, and are not really seeking relevance. GET USED TO IT.
