Hello All- If any of you have been interested in using a rain barrel in your yard but don't want to shell out the $200+ to get a nice looking one, check out the Hennepin County website for a beautiful one for only $62. Rain barrels are a great way to prevent run off into our rivers and use what water we get more wisely. It is also great your downspout area tends to flood, trap that water and use it on the flowers later! Follow this link to the enviromental services section of the county website to get more information. There is a very limited quantity. http://www.co.hennepin.mn.us/portal/site/HCInternet/menuitem.3f94db53874f9b6f68ce1e10b1466498/?vgnextoid=400d999f8a123110VgnVCM1000000f094689RCRD
I just picked up my rain barrel last week. If you are going to make the journey
to Brooklyn Park for the rain barrel, I suggest you buy the $35 compost bin
too. Be aware though, the ones the county is selling are HUGE, almost 3 feet
across. If you have room though, it's worth it. Amazing how fast you can fill
them up.
