Ted Mondale said the following:
"As you know it [the stadium package] has broad and growing support. It's
supported by our Governor, our Fortune 500 leaders, leaders in organized labor,
our Mayor, the entire City Council...."
The ENTIRE City Council?! And when he said that, Mr. Mondale made an expansive
gesture for emphasis in the direction of Mayor Rybak.
As most readers her know, the Council voted 7-6 to add the stadium proposal to
its legislative agenda.
Now, certainly when the City Council takes a vote, the result can be attributed
to the Council as a whole. But "the entire City Council" has a different
meaning. And without getting a warning, may I suggest it might have a
misleading meaning.
