While corporate media remains silent again, here is a report from the protests
at the groundbreaking for the Carl Pohlad Stadium multi-million dollar
give-a-way. You know, the one that the Star Tribune and the other corporate
media outlets promoted. It has been reported to me that the <ahem cough>
"journalists" that were there were very disrespectful of the protestors
present, with the exception of FOX News channel 9/29.
Almost like the local corporate media was the enemy of an informed public and
by extention democracy. Refusing, flat out refusing to inform the public on
issues and perspectives that are important to the public.

[CCARL] Report from the groundbreaking & a (small) Call To Action
Well, we can't afford to get 6 jet aircraftto do a fly-over (with smoke
trailing off the back ends).
And (even if we could afford it) we certainly wouldn't put on a fireworks
display at 7pm in the evening when it is still daylight out and nobody can see
it.
And we don't have the production facilites to mass produce big glossy posters
commemorating our events.
And you can certainly bet that we did not have any live music (this time).
BUT, we do put on a good show, but you would never know it by the media
coverage (er, lack of coverage) in this town.
Nope, it is all about feeling good and wonderful about outdoor baseball -- --
