1,000 march in Minneapolis to protest Israeli bombing of Gaza

many ethnic groups and many faiths gathered at 44th and Central in
Northeast Minneapolis to rally in support of the Palestinian people on the
day Israel invaded Gaza with army troops. The death toll is estimated at
274 Palestinians, mostly children and women, and two Israelis. The rally
was organized by the Anti-War Committee.

mentoring program at Farview Park, shared his story at Locked Up, Locked
Out of how he was able to overcome the mistakes of his youth. He grew up on
Minneapolis' North Side in a stable home, and was active in his school and
with sports. However, as a young teenager Jackson found himself responsible
for the care of his younger six siblings. He was able to earn some money
working at a part-time job, but was still unable to make ends meet.

about Bob Schneider before Friday night was that he was a song writer from
Austin whose name sometimes shows up on my Dad’s Sirius Radio and that my
friends like him a lot. I was expecting country – and I got a little
country, but I also got salsa and rock and dance music and more. I was very
impressed.
