highway 252 back into downtown Minneapolis? This is the second Black male to go
into the Mississippi River in Minneapolis.
On May 18, at approximately text at 3 a.m. Jerome Gordon Jackson 28, coming
from a nightclub in downtown Minneapolis was pulled over by police, possibly
highway patrol at highway 252 and 66th Street in Brooklyn Center. At the same
time, he sent a text to his sister, Tencia Gordon saying he would probably be
going to jail for a DWI and asked her to pick him up at the jail.
Jackson’s sister she did not hear from him after that text. Uniformed police
and Hennepin County Sheriff Sean Guilickson came to her door (Jackson’s
sister), at 7 a.m. (on Saturday morning), saying Jackson had jumped off the
Hennepin Avenue Bridge (location is unknown) body still missing. Police asked
Ms. Gordon was he (Jackson) depressed and also asked his occupation (he works
with special education children in the Roseville School District). He has not
showed up for work this week.
He takes medication for a past bout with a medical condition and police wrote
this information down. Police say they have a witness, Damon who said he saw
Jackson jump off bridge. Witness “Damon” said he tried to speak with Jackson to
“talk him down.” Did Damon call 911?
Star Tribune reporter Paul Walsh is said Jackson was arrested; car was
impounded, tested for DWI and then dropped off at a downtown location.
