Post in Help the Daily Planet Cover the News
Hello folks. I'm the new neighborhoods editor for the Twin Cities Daily Planet.
We're starting something new next week. We're going to try filling our newsroom
a few afternoons a week with a team of writers and editors, all with varying
experience levels. We'll work together to report on stories and events going on
in neighborhoods across Minneapolis and St. Paul. If you've always kind of sort
of wanted to volunteer with the Daily Planet but never knew how, this should be
a fun way to get involved. E-mail me off-line if you're interested. I've pasted
a job description below. Please forward it to anyone you think might be
interested.
Want to help make the news? The Twin Cities Daily Planet
(www.tcdailyplanet.net) is looking for volunteers to help staff its newsroom.
Candidates would work closely with our most experienced journalists to cover
the day's events, from city council to neighborhood meetings. No experience
required. This is an opportunity to learn by doing. The Daily Planet's editors
will work one-on-one to teach candidates the necessary skills, from writing and
reporting a story to recording audio and video projects. (Experienced reporters
and photographers are also encouraged to apply.) Immediate openings available
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons. Contact Dan Haugen, Neighborhoods
Editor, at <email obscured>. The Twin Cities Daily Planet is a local
non-profit news website featuring original reporting by citizen journalists, as
well as the best of the neighborhood and community press.
