The Seward Sewing Circle is celebrating its first anniversary with an Open
House on Thursday, July 10, 3-7 pm, at Seward Tower East (2910 E. Franklin
Ave). Tote bags, aprons, African clothing, hats, quilts and other items made
by the circles will be on display. Light refreshments and East African food
will be served. Come visit with friends and neighbors in our multi-cultural
community and make some new friends as well.
The Seward Sewing Circle, sponsored by SNG and CommonBond Communities, seeks to
bring together the diverse members of the Seward Towers and neighborhood
volunteers for textile design and sewing. Many thanks to the members of the
Seward community who have donated their time, fabric, money, sewing machines
and other supplies to this project. For more information, contact the SNG
office at 612-338-6205 ext. 119 or <email obscured>.

I'm not sure whether items will be on sale, but there are some amazing Somali
weavings among the items and the women who made them (and own them) will be
there.
