Actually, the exchange that Lynn Eggers refers to was not on either this forum
(until now) or the ppe-list; it was because both Ms. Eggers and I were copied
complaints to the list keepers about this thread and with no rules constraining
them, one of these list keepers precipitated this rules violation from Ms.
Eggers (just a little one: we don't share private off-list on e-democracy.org
forums as "private stays private" here. I was certain it was not a post to the
ppe-list because I recently switched my settings for that group to a digest to
read any posts I was interested in on the webpage, so it was easier for me to
determine the exchange went out to the ppe-list membership or not; most forum
managers of e-democracy.org would not share such communication at all, and if
they did, would clearly identify it as private, so if anyone deserves an
apology here, it is perhaps Ms. Eggers and, perhaps, me.
Normally we do not discuss the forum on the forum as it detracts from the
discussion of issues within the scope of each e-democracy. org forum, but as
this is a new forum with few members posting to it or even realizing that they
are members, I think this discussion might help. I certainly was through
posting, likely for quite some time, but given the inexperience of the forum
manager and the limited resources of e-democracy.org, I have stepped "once more
into the breach."
There were more inaccuracies in what was shared with Ms. Eggers and me, some of
which could be considered insulting to us or to those of another species of
great ape that was referenced, but I am guided by something my great
grandmother used to say, that it takes two to insult, one to give and one to
accept.
Ms. Eggers was guided by her knowledge and experience in corrections, me,
biology; we don't always know what else guides us or others, but I will not
apologize for the ignorance of others, only my own which I try to minimize. I
will say something here that I've heard a mother tell a mildly injured child
many times, "Too baad it hoppen." (Pardon my phonetic effort at Motherese).
As for humor, good luck with removing that from any exchange among human
beings.
