FYI
Visioning work is being done for a new Greenway running north/south, passing
through the Midtown Phillips, Powderhorn, and Bancroft Neighborhoods on its
way. This Greenway would run somewhere on 10th, 11th, or 12th Avenue.
Related to this, a series of small house parties are being planned to gather
feedback on initial ideas. A host for a house party is being sought from
among those who live on the 3500, 3600 or 3700 blocks of 10th, 11th, or 12th
Avenue. Do you want to volunteer for this? The host would be asked to
invite enough neighbors to secure a group size of about six people including
the host. The party would last about 1.5 hours and take place some time in
October (this month) or early November (Nov. 1 or 5). If the host wants to
provide beverages and snacks, she/he will be reimbursed up to $25. The
party will entail a presentation projected from a computer and questions for
people to answer and discuss, with an emphasis on thinking 100 years ahead
to pursue ideal solutions. The consultant working on the project is Tim
Springer, <http://www.thegreenwayguy.com/> The Greenway Guy (
<mailto:<email obscured>> <email obscured>; 612 355-9600). Tim
is working as a subcontractor to <http://www.tooledesign.com/> Toole Design
Group, and their client is <http://www.tlcminnesota.org/> Transit for
Livable Communities (TLC) in St. Paul. This project is one of 12 projects
that the Toole Design Group team is designing for TLC with federal funding
to improve conditions or biking and walking in the Twin Cities.
