In the past six months, Longfellow residents have listened to local experts
present information about the impacts of a changing climate right here in the
Twin Cities, and how we can prepare for:
• Flooding
• Severe storms
• Power outages
• Heatwaves
• Tick and mosquito diseases
• Water and air quality issues
Now is the time to make a plan and take action!
Join your neighbors for DIY Preparedness Day. See examples of preparedness
kits; pick up helpful emergency checklists, get info on emergency
communications, tools you may need, ways to purify and store water, living
without electricity, and more.
Need a little push to actually get the work done? Watch the Transition
Longfellow Facebook Page (Longfellow Transition Group) or website –
ww.transitionlongfellow.org - for a Preparedness Challenge. Every few weeks
you’ll get bite-sized preparedness actions you can complete. Before you know
it, you'll be ready.
This event is free and open to anyone, from any neighborhood. Hosted by
Transition Longfellow, and co-sponsored by the LCC Environment committee.
