I'd like to invite those who live, work, and spend their time in the Cedar
Riverside neighborhood of Minneapolis to connect online with their fellow
neighbors.
This is your place to share announcements and discuss local issues that matter
to you from local schools to crime to transit to community events to simply
getting to know your neighbors to build a stronger community.

(For those new to E-Democracy.Org hosted forums.)
In the coming months, E-Democracy.Org will be supporting an effort that opens
one of the best and likely the most diverse online neighborhood forums in
country ... make that the world.
Our launch process is pretty simple:
1. Share this invite and see who signs up.
2. Call a meeting (join the forum to receive an invite) of those who really
like
the idea. All sorts of community groups will be invited.
3. Generate a list of forum supporters - reflecting today's Cedar Riverside -
who agree to help us with target outreach to open with a forum that reflects
all
races, ethnicities, ages, genders, etc. in the area.
4. Recruit. Outreach. Recruit. Outreach.
5. Recruit. Outreach. Recruit. Outreach.
6. Open with 100-200 initial members and a round of neighborly introductions.
The forum must be "of" the community and run by local people.
This effort is supported by a grant from the MSNet fund of the Minneapolis
Foundation to support online neighborhood forums in areas with high
immigrant/low income/communities of color. Cedar Riverside will be joining our
new volunteer-based forums in Seward - http://e-democracy.org/seward - and
Standish Ericsson - http://e-democracy.org/se . Additional neighborhood forums
are in the works. For more information and to take a survey to indicate your
interest is starting/joining a neighborhood forum elsewhere in Minneapolis or
St. Paul, visit: http://e-democracy.org/nf
Again, please pass this on to anyone you know connected to Cedar Riverside and
encourage them to sign up today: http://e-democracy.org/cr
