FYI,
This is a one year study that started summer 2011 and isexpected to be done
summer of 2012 - it is an extension of the MDH Mpls school district
administrative study done in 2009 by Prev MDH Commissioner - Dr. Sanne Magnan
whom Somali autism parents will eternally be grateful to.
The ultimate goal is for children and adults with autism in MINNESOTA to have
access to medically necessary services/resources, do research into causes,
cure, prevention so that no parents ever hears we don't have answers of why
your child is not talking, playing, routine oriented, no fear of safety, etc -
etc. No parent should hear that - it is heart-breaking to hear and to digest.In
Minnesota - we don't have ADDM Surveillance system, statewide autism plan, no
specific methods of paying for services - need lots of research from UofMN and
MDH.
