residents are complaining about the snow in front of their building. It
is winter and snow is expected however, if the building entrance is not
cleaned this can cause people to fall and hurt themselves. Our last
safety committee meeting Tuesday January 5, 2010 some of the committee
members and residents in the Riverside Plaza stated that three elders
fall on the snow and one of them is in a serious condition! Riverside
Plaza security announced at our safety committee meeting that there is a
safety issue and wanted to let the safety committee know that Riverside
Plaza run out of salt and sand and will not be able to clean or put salt
or sand on the snow for couple of weeks, it might even take longer than
that. He also asked the elders to spread the word out to the entire
residents! Many residents are at risk for breaking their legs, hips and
so on. This is crazy. In this weather if no one plows or cleans the snow
what will the residents do? I know there is a resident association in
Riverside Plaza who represent the resident. I would like to know what
has been done about this emergency issue. Residents cannot wait days
forget about weeks.
The Riverside Plaza should not ignore the rights of their tenants.
Please let us figure out how we can help these poor residents.
