There's no Internet access - but I have my laptop and I'm catching up with
reading.
I just finished an ebook by Neighborhood America
(http://www.neighborhoodamerica.com) geared at promoting social networking
tools to the public sector. Their premise was good - the public sector (and
I'll add nonprofit sector) should use the same tools brands use to share
info and promote themselves. They draw heavily from the Obama campaign.
I thought the following stats were worth sharing.
Thanks! Ann
. 85% of Americans believe a company should interact with its
customer via social media
. 56% feel a stronger connection with and better served by companies
when they can interact with them in a social media environment
. Online social network users are 3x more likely to trust their
peers' opinions over advertising
. Fully engaged customers deliver a 23% premium over the average in
terms of share of wallet, profitability, revenue and relationship growth
. ROI from marketing spend is better utilized in-network. Email open
rate for Obama's campaign was 70% compared to a 10% industry average.
. 50% of citizens who engage in government networks are more likely
to vote.
