Minneapolis, MN, 8/5/22 â Unendorsed Minnesota Republican challenger for
Governor, âCandidate-Journalist,â and âSuperRINOmanâ Bob âAgainâ Carney Jr. is
calling on all Minnesota Mainstream Media to âtell Minnesota there ARE choices
in all 4 major party primaries for Governor - not doing this entrenches a de
facto monopoly of big money and special interests - of course, we need Ranked
Choice Votingâ
The FarmFest Jensen/Walz scrum is only the most recent example of a united
Media front sending a clear message to Minnesota voters: all other tickets for
Governor in the August 9th Minnesota primary â seven other major party tickets
are on the ballot â donât exist.
Is this an institutionalized self-fulfilling prophecy?
There are multiple facets to what is going on. The Mainstream Media can
legitimately argue they are simply dedicated to not wasting the time of their
readers and viewers. By limiting their reporting to competitive candidates,
judged by many objective criteria including money raised and spent, people can
focus attention on âchoices that matter.â
However, from a longer-term and institutional perspective, including a survey
of what is possible, we must consider whether the foundation of the argument
presented above isnât really one of self-interest. As just one example, total
political spending in the U.S. is not an insignificant part of the total
revenue received by all Mainstream Media. Might all âpolitical reportingâ be
properly viewed as a kind of gatekeeper function⌠ensuring that âeyeballsâ â
the coin of the realm â will only be delivered to paying customers?
To sum up: might there be a better alternative to ensuring that new and
innovative candidates and ideas can emerge than either the current, entrenched
Media monopoly or its current major challenger: the Trump wrecking ball?
Hereâs another way of looking at this: from an engineering perspective the best
way to ensure that something wonât explode is often to provide a safety valve.
Ensuring for every election cycle that We the People clearly understand from
the get-go that we can have choices on primary election ballots, and providing
for Ranked Choice Voting in primaries, is a better way to maintain our current
primary safety valve.
The combination of Ranked Choice primaries and a Ranked Choice General Election
with only one candidate or ticket per major party could be the best way to
ensure both that we have a real and effective Primary election safety valve,
and that people arenât overwhelmed by too many choices (too much of a burden to
sort it all out!) in the General Election.
âOf course, the fundamental problem with this idea - and with all good ideas -
is that entrenched interests prefer to compete with bad ideas or no ideas.
Unfortunately, things have deteriorated to the point that bad ideas and no
ideas are giving the establishment and its walking, talking, ice cream
cone-licking zombies stiff competition,â bobagain said.
Following the primary, bobagain plans to assess the situation and may take
legal action based on anti-trust grounds.
âFor now, as mitigating action, Iâm calling on the Minnesota Media to simply
tell Minnesota voters before the primary that there are in fact multiple
tickets on the ballot for all four of Minnesotaâs major political parties,â
bobagain said.

Correction
The end of the previous (8/4) news release referred to a Walz/Birk ticket â of
course, it âshould have beenâ Jensen/Birk. âBut this isnât my fault⌠Walz/Birk
is what both Conventions should have nominatedâŚâ bobagain said, and spun
further: ââŚso thatâs the real correction.â
Deniers gotta deny.
