I have spent three years writing software to enable communities to 'plug in'
mutual credit accounting systems to their social networking sites (using the
Drupal platform). this has been great for Timebanks USA and many LETS in
Europe, but the subject of alternative currencies is still very marginal. So
recently I've been reframing my work and moving into spaces more like this one.
By talking about community, subsidiarity & transition, I hope to tap into a
much larger reservoir of interest.
So my organisation, Community Forge, which is giving free sites for LETS
groups, is working with Community Tools which is giving away free sites for
communities, and is starting work on a template site for Transition towns. We
are making web sites with many optional components to help communities govern,
manage, and organise themselves.
So we're looking to build relationships with likely users, not only because we
have bills to pay at the end of the day, but because its time to build momentum
around this approach.
I saw the blog post "Apps for Communities β GroupServer with Inclusive Social
Media Submission" which looks like you're going in a similar direction, but
without an underlying platform.

So I'm open to talk more about unifying our approaches.
