What Is the State of Your Block?
By THE NEW YORK TIMES
Thursday at 1 p.m., Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg will give his annual
State of the City Address. He can be expected to tout the year’s
successes and promote his administration’s policies and plans going
forward. City Room will cover it live with a video feed and tweets
from our reporters and editors.
To capture a very local perspective, City Room is asking readers, as
we did last year, to provide their own “State of the Block” reports.
Please send descriptions and anecdotes using the comment box below.
How would you best describe the last 12 months on your block? How are
your neighbors and the local businesses doing? What are the criminals
up to? What about the sanitation workers, police officers, pothole
fillers and other providers of city services?
Be sure to include your borough, as well as your street and which
streets or avenues it is between. You may of course remain anonymous.
We’ll cull our favorites from the comments and republish them Thursday
