Hello Forum members
Is there any local provision for supporting people in financial debt? (Advice,
creditor negotiators, budgeting support, counselling?) Is anyone already
working on this or anyone who has researched our nearest provision for Bris
people? Does anyone have any evidence of need for this service in this area?
I am in the very early early stages of researching this and am keen to hear if
there are any other people or agencies who are already engaged in this work or
would like to be.
Just for clarity - we are in the fortunate position that we have capacity to
grow or adopt an additional service(s) here at Brislington Neighbourhood
Centre, however we are not committing to running a project on debt management,
we are just investigating options and looking for partnerships at the moment.
We'll keep you posted!
Thanks

I think this is a great idea!
If there isn't already a need for this service I'm sure there soon will be
thanks to the credit crunch!!
And the facilities at Brislington Neighbourhood Centre seem to be ideal for the
delivery of a counselling service. Perhaps we could put together a bid for
funding (perhaps to the Esme Fairbairn Foundation--I think they fund projects
that give financial and budgetting advice) once a partner is identified? Let's
ask through BCP if anyone would like to get involved in helping to put
something together.
Cheers!

what about the Bristol Citizen's advice bureau? Whilst I know they're
overloaded, I also know that they are always looking for funding and may
well be good partners?
cheers,
Jaya

Sounds like a good idea. East Bristol Advice Services have a Debt Support evening, maybe they would be good to contact to see if they can point us in the right direction? http://www.advicecentresforavon.org.uk/advice/benefits/east_bristol_advice_services_0

This is obviously spam ... but in this case someone in an e-sweatshop
is actually doing this manually.
We will watch this "human" trend (our system block automated spam
quite well) and while forums have the option to moderate all new
members, when we take that step it is more work to manage.

Actually, I might be wrong about this being spam. However, all posts on
