"After this week Framingham’s Conservation Commission Department will have ZERO
dedicated staff. The Conservation Administrator retired a couple of moths ago
and the two assistant agents have given their notice and are gone after this
week. As of the this afternoon, NONE of these job openings are advertised on
the City’s website.
>From the posted agenda for tonight’s meeting, it appears that the commission
will be discussing how to move forward without any support staff. The staff
plays a critical role including but not limited to review of project
submissions, conducting site visits and inspections, overseeing issued permits,
and responding to violations. How long can a community of our size go without a
dedicated staff to this department? With all the current and proposed
development in our City these are not roles that should be vacant any amount of
time. Please attend tonight’s meeting or contact the Mayors office to voice
your concerns and urge our City’s leaders to prioritize filling these
vacancies. "
