will open the 2018 season by raising the Super Bowl 51 banner. This is the
Patriots 5th Super Bowl win which puts them as one of the great teams in NFL
history.
Another historic event will be the District 3 Candidates Forum. Historic as it
is the first ever district event for our city council and school committee
candidates. What started as a throwaway line about providing something for
District 3 voters to meet and hear their candidates has snowballed to an actual
event. The idea has spread, and there are other districts with similar
candidate forums/debates scheduled.
The District 3 Candidates Forum is being host by Suze Craighead and Rich
Shapiro. It will take place in the Brophy School Auditorium/Cafeteria from
7-9pm.
Questions for the candidates are still being accepted at
<email obscured> . Please make sure to include your name and address
so we know this is coming from within the district. We will keep your
information confidential. There will be opportunity to submit questions at the
forum, too.
Now for the hard part. If you can’t decide to watch the banner going up or
meeting your candidates. Here is a suggestion: DVR or TIVO the pregame and the
game. Wouldn’t you rather watch the banner reveal later to digest the
gloriousness of the moment. Kickoff should be around 840pm. By the time you get
home, start the game broadcast on your recording device, fast forward through
the endless commercials (did you know the Candidates Forum is commercial
free?!?!), and you will catch up to live action in no time.
The forum ends at 9 so you could be home in the first quarter if you leave on
time. If you linger to shake hands and say hello to our candidates, you will be
home in the second quarter.
With our proven strategy, you will not miss any action of the Patriots and will
catch up to live TV by halftime.
We hope to see you Thursday, September 7 at Brophy School, 7-9pm.
Suze and Rich.
