a board, commission, or committee gives residents a voice in government and
opportunities to influence decisions.

2030 Advisory Council (20 seats) - The 2030 Advisory Council is an ad-hoc
committee to the Mayor. This Council is comprised of twenty Framingham
residents ages 21-35. The goals of the Council are to foster community
engagement, facilitate communication with City Hall and give an essential voice
on behalf of the interests of younger residents to generate improvements,

Agricultural Advisory Committee (3 seats) - The Agricultural Advisory Committee
was established to serve as the primary advocate for farming and agriculture in

Board of Assessors (1 seat) - Under the jurisdiction of the Commissioner of
Revenue, the Board of Assessors revise rules, regulations, and guidelines as
deemed necessary to establish minimum standards of assessment performance; upon
certification, they assess values, new growth, and tax rates on an annual
basis. Per Framingham Home Rule Charter, members of the Board of Assessors do

Board of Health (1 seat) - The Board of Health is responsible for disease
prevention and control, health and environmental protection, and promoting a

Cable Advisory (3 seats) - The Cable Advisory Committee acts as a liaison
between cable customers and the cable companies, and provides feedback and acts
in an advisory capacity to the City Council and the Mayor for issues that may
require the direct intervention of the City administration. Pursuant to 207 CMR
§3.01(3) and prior consultation with the Department of Telecommunications and

Community Development Committee (3 seats) - The Community Development Committee
works in cooperation with the Community and Economic Development Department to
satisfy the citizen participation requirements of the Housing and Community
Development Act of 1974. The committee holds public hearings to obtain views of
citizens on community development and housing needs and provide citizens with
adequate opportunities to participate in the development, implementation, and

Conservation Commission (3 seats) - The Conservation Commission, in conjunction
with the Conservation Office, is responsible for reviewing all proposed and
on-going municipal, private, commercial, and industrial projects to determine

Council on Aging (6 seats) - The Council on Aging assists older adults to
remain independent at home for as long as possible while providing for choices

Cultural Council (3 seats) - The Framingham Cultural ' 'Council's goal is to

Economic Development Industrial Corporation (2 seats) - The Economic
Development and Industrial Corporation works with the City to plan for and
carry out economic development where it is most critically needed. The body

Elderly & Disabled Tax Fund Committee (1 seat) - The City of Framingham
accepted the provisions of Acts 1998 C. 166 whereby taxpayers may voluntarily

Fair Housing Committee (5 seats) - The Fair Housing Committee's mission is to
educate the community and residents on matters of fair housing. It accomplishes

Historic District Commission (3 seats) - The Historic District Commission
preserves the character of designated historic districts in Framingham through

Historical Commission (3 seats) - The Historical 'Commission's mission is to
work alongside the Massachusetts Historical Commission to promote the

implementation of that plan, including the creation of and maintenance of the

Human Relations Commission (5 seats) - The purpose of the Commission shall be
to deal with the causes of intergroup disunity, which underlie the urban crisis
