mass of Framingham land is near fragile, protected areas that Conservation
oversees and it seems to me that our Conservation Dept needs to be a large part
of this conversation.
** But Framingham NO LONGER HAS A CONSERVATION DEPT. **
The postion vacated May 1 has not even been advertised as of July 14.
As the article says " "Pay me now or pay me later," Framingham consumers can
invest in a reliable product now or risk having to pay for expensive repairs
down the line.
The product? A citywide action plan to reduce the risk of disasters in the
coming years, be it from damaging ice storms or flooding."
And I would add having a knowledgeable, dedicated staff in the Framingham
Conservation Dept is essential!
It is not too late to send your comments to your City Councilor, your At-Large
City Councilors and the Mayor. City Council will be meeting Tuesday night and I
hope the ConCom will be allowed to address this issue on the agenda.
