I am under the impression that we want to encourage growth in the Solar
Industry. Taxing the Solar panels seems counter intuitive and would scare off
potential businesses from installing solar in Framingham. I am interested in
peoples opinions on how this tax on the new solar installation is a good idea.

Installation
To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Board of Selectmen to
negotiate,enter into,execute and approve an agreement for a payment in lieu of
taxes agreement (PILOT Agreement)as authorized by MGL Chapter 59,section 38H
with MA Solar Highway LLC,with respect to annual payments in lieu of real and
personal property taxes for a term up to twenty years relative to solar
electric generating facilities to be installed and located on land owned by the
Massachusetts Department of Transportation MassDOT)and located at Massachusetts
Turnpike Exit 13 (north and south cloverleaf)and Framingham Service Plaza.
