I ask, “How serious is Eversource in cleaning up 350 Irving St?” and I dare
answer to the effect that Eversource is not serious, but rather stringing us
along and playing some of us like a violin.
Here’s the kind of violin I am:

Of what I understand, there is a tank with roughly 1/4 million gallon of this
deadly goo buried not far from the “Landscape Depot” sign in front of the
property.
In spite of the fact that NSTAR (Eversource’s previous name) have promised to
start cleaning up that property when they got that tax break from this Town
back in 2007, we have yet to see evidence that Eversource is serious in getting
it cleaned.
Let me share this analogy: The floor of the Blumer Room in Memorial Building
has to be dug up in order to remediate some serious problem. The Landscape
Depot / Eversource plan is to move the furniture from one part of the room and
dig up the cleared spot, then move the furniture around till they finally get
it all done... Keep in mind that 50% to 70% of the floor space has all kinds of
big furniture...
...I dare say that 100% of the furniture NEEDS to be removed from the Blumer
Room that we call 350 Irving St in order to be able to have access to 100% of
the floor that needs to be dug up.
If Eversource was serious in getting 350 Irving St back in 2007, we would have
heard from Eversource no later than the year 2010 that they need to get that
tank that contains 1/4 million gallons of deadly goo... And TODAY, that 1/4
million gallons of that deadly goo would have been PROPERLY DISPOSED.
BUT
BUT
BUT
That deadly goo is STILL there!!!!!! So much for Eversource keeping promises.
Again, what Eversource has failed to do... that is a moral disgrace.
Furthermore, such infraction is not some kind of a victimless crime, but rather
a VIOLENT crime that enable passive violence being committed against those who
comes onto 350 Irving St.
If Eversource is directed by decent people, then where are those decent people
who will give the marching orders to all tenants to leave 350 Irving St, and
perhaps aid in relocating those tenants... and then ramp up the remediation
process of 350 Irving St. We shall see if Eversource is directed by decent
people. If not, then we have to be prepared to bat when Eversource continues to
play hard ball with this Town.
