Many of you know me already: I served on Town Meeting for many years, and as
member and then president of the Access Framingham Board of Directors. I have
been an art teacher for children and adults at the Danforth Museum School, and
an active neighborhood organizer. You may have seen my artworks at local
museums and galleries, or visited websites I created in my freelance web
development business. I have served as Web Editor at the Wellesley Centers for
Women and Webmaster for the Framingham History Center. Or you may know me as a
musician, as I’ve played in several different local bands, most recently with
the bluegrass band, Moonshine Alley. These activities have all been fascinating
and rewarding, and I love my life!
I also love this community. I love the tremendous cultural vitality and the
variety of people, the excellent public services, and the great access to both
Boston/Cambridge and to rural countryside. Framingham has been a great place to
raise a family, and the two youngest of my four wonderful children were well
educated by the Framingham public schools, attending Hemenway and McAuliffe,
and graduating from FHS in 2011.
At the same time, we have ideals we haven’t lived up to, and potential that
remains chronically unrealized. In addition to the good things happening in
Framingham, we have numerous neglected areas and challenges, and many residents
face new fears and struggles. The Board of Selectmen is the policy-making body
of our local government, and by adding a fresh progressive voice to the Board,
voters can choose to bend the arc of local history toward a more equitable,
prosperous and sustainable community. I offer that progressive voice. To learn
