water after our recent rainfall and that water was left standing. A
detention pond is not supposed to have standing water since it becomes a
public health issue: a breeding place for mosquitoes and, if unfenced, a
drowning risk.
I want to thank Cheryl Tully Stoll for her quick response to our complaint,
getting the right people involved and putting pressure on the developer to
take action. I have never had anyone in the Town be so responsive to issues
such as this one and also understanding about how developers' ignoring rules
is a major stress factor for those living in the area.
The process to drain the water occurred over the course of two days with
lots of noise and fumes but the area is now mostly drained.
