I am raising money for 2 community gardens that both serve black and brown
youth in our City.
One is in North Minneapolis - they have 18 garden sites and are working to
build a new victory garden in honor of George Floyd. They need a large amount
of compost, 100 trowles, 20 shovels, 20 hoes, garden trugs/containers they can
re-wash and tomato stacking structures, also possibly seeds and/or plants.
The other is for Urban Roots (https://urbanrootsmn.org/) in St. Paul, a
wonderful organization that teaches youth entrepreneurship skills along with
growing skills. They also need a large amount of compost and I'm sure would
love some new tools.
I was in contact with both of these organizations about donating compost before
George Floyd was murdered and was going to donate these things myself. But,
together we are stronger and can make a bigger impact.
Will you help me?
Details:
Donations will be open from now until Monday at noon. I'll provide daily
updates on money raised and coordinate the purchase/delivery of the compost and
tools to where they are needed.
I will also provide receipts and photos of what you all help me purchase and
hopefully garden updates throughout the season π
I have donated a garden to someone every year since I started gardening and I'm
humbled to be able to support my community in this way. Please help if you
can!! And share with whoever else might be interested.
My venmo is @claire-c / Cashapp $clairec2286
Thank you for helping us grow a better future for all!
