School if there was going to be another healing run to Red Lake H.S..
[apparently, they want to do this, and I wonder how many other students are
interested in doing this]. Sadly I told her that I was not sure what was
going to happen. I told her at our finale farewell ceremony to Denise, I
enpowered the students, staff, and those community members present to
consider doing this healing run as a yearly event and we could use "Gramma
Duck's Healing Run" as a theme logo. It is my vision that we carry a Eagle
Feather in honor and memory of Denise and tie it to the Eagle Staff that the
students carried and presented to the H.S. at Red Lake last spring. We could
do this run this spring and then after that, beginning next spring, this
could be done in our own community as a annual event, ex; from the H.S. to
down town C.L.and back or around the Pike Bay loop, ect. It is my hope that
we could use this to bridge the gap that separates us and to heal a commuity
that has been divided for too long. Let us come together for a common cause
and let us be there for our children. This is a dream, don't let it die. I
told her if they wanted to do this, then they had better start making plans
right away because time is short, get a meeting together and I would be
willing to help in any small way that I can. Can we make this happen for our
children to help them heal? Kenn Mitchell
