Good afternoon. Please find attached the latest edition of In the Loop.
Please note that some of the information is time-sensitive, including details
about public hearings sponsored by the Illinois House and Senate this weekend
and Monday. I hope that you can join the Lawndale Alliance and other community
based organizations around the State as we support the Unity Map proposal as
outlined by the United Congress of Community and Religious Organizations
(UCCRO). There will be a press conference in front of the Bilandic Building
Saturday, May 21 at 11:30 just before the 12:00 noon public hearing sponsored
by the Senate. The Unity Map, more than any other proposal, maximizes
opportunities for minorities to elect candidates of their choice.
The newsletter also includes announcements for funding opportunities, links to
articles and other resources you may find of interest. If your organization's
fiscal year is coming to an end in June, be sure to read the checklist for
nonprofit compliance.
If you do not wish to remain on this distribution list, please e-mail me at
<email obscured>. If you have announcements to share, you can e-mail
them to me as well. This can include things like announcements for upcoming
events, job announcements, resume's funding sources, articles of interest, or
any resource you think worth sharing. The distribution list includes
nonprofits, engaged citizens, public officials, public agencies and small
business owners.
Given my time constraints, I cannot promise to get the e-newsletter out every
week. I will do my best to post your announcements on the Staying in the Loop
bulletin board when I can't get the newsletter out. I would love to hear your
comments on the new format and how the newsletter can be improved.
