Chicago Region Civic Forum (Proposed) Charter

Purpose

The purpose of the Chicago Region Civic Forum (Proposed) is to promote and to facilitate effective discussions of the public policy issues within the City of Chicago and to support the establishment of additional neighborhood and community forums within the region.

Goals

The goals of Chicago Region Civic Forum (Proposed) are:

• Increase civic engagement throughout the Chicago region
• Support Establishment of Neighborhood and Community Level forums in Chicago Region
• Support Open Government, Civic Accountability and Civic Learning Efforts
• Provide an open forum for all Chicago neighborhood residents to discuss key issues and share information
• Enhance elected leaders' ability to interact with residents in order to facilitate delivery of services
• Enable access to unique online and offline resources to assist residents and legislators in collaborating towards building stronger Chicago neighborhoods
