Does anybody know if the proposed voter ID law working it's way through the Minnesota legislature will require Cook County to set up in person polling places again? What costs will the County incur to make the change back from mail ballots to voting booths?
The best anyone can tell is that at this point nothing has been put into any bill regarding mail voting. House leadership has thus far backed off from any inclusions on this, saying that they will leave it up to the 2013 legislature to address. I think that is more cop out, and more reason that should they put this up as an amendment to the state constitutional we should work very hard to defeat it. Perhaps pressure can be brought now to convince the Republicans to try Ritchie's proposed electronic system instead.
