This is an online class. We will be using Adobe Acrobat Connect for
the classroom. Adobe Acrobat Connect offers streaming audio, streaming
video, as well as screen sharing. The only software that you need to
participate is Flash. Apparently, 98% of the worlds computers already

This 90 minute class will cover the following topics:
* What are Local Issues Forums? How are
they different from other online forums?
What are the differences between a city-wide
and neighborhood based Issues Forum?
* The key rules of a Local Issues Forum and
the reasons for them.
* 11 Tips for effectively using your Local
Issues Forum, such as:
* "Its OK to delete messages and not
read them"
* "Whenever possible, support your
argument with a link to the source"
* "When possible, speak from personal
experience rather than from ideology"
* and more.....
* How to help strenghten your Local Issues
Forum and in turn strengthen your community?
These classes are open to current or prospective members of your local
