River water conservation order. Trustpower wants to change its business
to include 'provision' of water. If they are providing it someone else
can't so it seems very close to their claiming ownership of the water.
It will be easy for them to decide who receives the water.
Straight after the election the Govt wants to proceed with investigation
into what profit can be gained by changing GM law. I believe that is
because the US GM companies want GM in the TPPA.
Because Europe does not want GM canola the American crops are cheaper
than what Solid Energy currently pays for its biodiesel non-GM canola
here. The GM farmers pay large aounts to the GM companies and are very
poor. I suspect Solid Energy may get CO2 credit from our tax when
producing biodiesel. But that sort of production is not a saving, with
the fertiliser &c, and the reduction of food-crop land. I would like the
community to be able to have a say to whom Trustpower may distribute
water, and to be able to audit it.
If the American GM companies are able to degrade our agriculture to GM
then we cannot earn so well and so it becomes easy for them to take
over NZ. That is corporatocracy.
We need to have efficient use of water, and that also should mean a
water holder not provide any on unless the receiver is attending to
management of water in soil by less ploughing &c and shading from sun
and wind with trees. That would rule out the approximately 2 km diameter
center pivot schemes which do not allow trees.
The GM corporates are very strong but the American people have been able
to hold back so far on Monsanto's push to make it illegal to mark milk
as rBGH-free. Could we be so strong under the corporatocracy?
