I just spotted what I think is the first blog by a Canterbury Mayor,
Kevin Heays of Kaikoura.

"Mayor Kev" has been posting news and reflections about what he's been
up to, since March this year. Comments appear to be enabled, but I
haven't seen any comments.
Are there any other Canterbury politicians actively blogging? If so,
