John Knox says in the Press today
“.. to allow allow Candidates Carol Evans and Dennis O’Rourke to publish self
serving rhetoric was disappointing .”
I agree John but compare your case to that of other Candidates.
I do not think you lost much from this.
Photographs of Evans and O’Rourke were not published. Compare that to Sally
Buck in Fendalton [ pays her own costs to Council farewell ]
And you certainly haven’t had to face a smear campaign like Editor and Peter
Luke arranged out of nothing for Bill Woods.
And just for the record John, hows this for rhetoric,
the day after the letters editor said he filtered out all personal self
serving letters,
“ Under Sir Kerry Burke’s effective leadership, Ecan now has a recognized
record as a protector of Canterbury’s environment.
In achieving this , he has been ably supported by the minority party 2021 for
and independent colleagues to get worthwhile breakthroughs for Canterbury.
…. I chose to stand with them [2021] because it offered vision, leadership and
commitment I was seeking”
You have to go easy on us John, some of read the Press early in the morning,
and we don't want to feel crook for the rest of the day.
But you are right 2021 certainly do have Commitment, take from the Regional
sector by direct and indirect tax, and pump up the votes in the City.
The way Ecan is now, the best thing that could happen is a unitary authority.
Sincerely Paul Scott
