I agree it's a pity it wasn't better attended Tony and yes, it could have been
better advertised - the timing was just unfortunate, it excluded pretty much
all teachers - I sent apologies, was out in the sticks on supply.
I guess the most important meeting is Wed 16th. at 4pm, Moulsecoomb Leisure
Centre. Again, not great timing for most of us but I suppose the cunning plan
is to get a lot of Moulescoomb Junior parents there......
If that meeting isn't well attended it doesn't bode well for the campaign so I
hope plenty of people can come.
Anyone who wants to get information can try sheilaawalker123@msn. com
She is the person nursing the petition. I'm getting information from Linda
Newman, Phil Clarke and local politicians as well, I'm not sure if anyone is in
overall control (bad word!) of information.

The conclusion of 'Details' of the e- petition reads: ' a ballot across the
Brighton and Hove community would provide evidence that an academy is NOT
actually wanted'.
This isn't well worded. The results of a ballot might also provide evidence
that an academy IS wanted! The result cannot be pre-decided.
If there's a history of disempowerment associated with the school why not a
fresh start?

Oh I'd be quite confident we could win such a ballot against privatisation of
schools and handing them over to seedy millionaires. When the Council decided,
after 3 years delay, to ballot about privatisation of council housing, there
was a thumping majority against. Same with the Mayor ballot.

A good campaigning base for Tony's suggestion would be a BIG vote in the
government petition - still pathetically small numbers, feeling a bit
despondent......
I'll try to get the address right this time;
petitions.pm.gov.uk/FalmerAcademy/
Pretty please.
