was sagging and needed to be repaired. They didn't fix it, and it's now broken.

Last night the bridge remained broken, with a large plank dumped across the
hole, which is dangerous and can cause people to trip up especially in the
dark. And no notice warning people of the danger.
This can't be blamed on the recession. In the event of an accident the Council
would be liable as it had been informed of the condition of the bridge some
months ago on the Fix-it site.
What hope is there for local democracy if a basic safety issue like this can be
ignored?
I believe it expresses the contempt the council holds for all of the city's
residents.
