Hi there,

Not sure if this works properly coz the last time I posted I never
found out if it appeared or not and there were no responses so things
don't look good.

My recycling has not been collected for 4 weeks now.  I 'phone the
council to ask why and was told that despite the fact I followed their
instructions about where to place my one box (seeing as how my other
boxes were stolen?) the operatives of those lovely lorries wouldn't
walk down a few steps at 6 in the morning to pick up my box and the
bags of bottles that I had put with it.  The 'lovely and helpful' guy
at the council said I have to put it all on the path outside my house.
 He then refused to comprehend that a) it would block the path for all
the buggies that get pushed along and that b) seeing as how I would
have to put it all out the night before because of the rather early
collection time, most of the bottles would be broken by the more
unsavoury elements in the area!

I'm very much in favour of recycling as much as possible so we can all
make a start in stemming the environmental disasters that are befallin
the world at present, but surely the council has to be a bit more
flexible.
