Very pleased that my request for a scrutiny process on street trees has
been agreed . Terms of reference not yet finalised by the Panel, but my
suggestion in my request was :
To clarify the situation with regard to street trees in Brighton & Hove
To identify the threats to street trees and problems .
To make recommendations for a policy framework with regard to the
future of street trees.
Unfortunately if one proposes a scrutiny panel on an issue - it is not
then possible to be part of the panel - However, I intend to give
evidence. If anyone wishes to give evidence about street trees - in the
light of the above ToR you could send it by writing (e-mail will do) to
Giles Rossington@brighton&hove.gov.uk . You can also ask to speak to
the panel if you wish and you will be timetabled in.
Many thanks for your observations.
