Brighton & Hove City Council
Hove Town Hall, Norton Road
Hove BN3 3BQ
Dear Sir/Madam
London Road Masterplan SPD Issues and Options Consultation
As part of an ongoing strategy to improve the London Road and Lewes
Road corridors into Brighton and Hove, the city council is about to
develop a Masterplan focussed on the London Road shopping centre and
the surrounding neighbourhood. To aid this process, we are holding a
series of early stakeholder consultation events seeking your views on
how the London Road area could be improved.
It is anticipated that the Masterplan will take 12-18 months to
prepare. Once approved, the Masterplan will be used to assist in the
assessment of development proposals in the London Road area. The city
council is particularly keen to establish your views on local
priorities concerning the London Road area such as public space,
transport, access, land use and community facilities. Your
participation in this process will help shape the future of the London
Road area, so don't miss out!
We will be holding two workshops at City College, Pelham Street (see
attached location map and details) on:
Monday 9 June 2008 from 12.00pm to 2.00pm; and
Thursday 12 June 2008 from 5.30pm to 7.30pm
Sandwiches and refreshments will be available during the event.
If you would like to attend either of these events, please could you
indicate this on your response to the invitation and return it as soon
as possible and by no later than 16 May 2008. Due to resource and
space constraints, places will be allocated on a first come first
serve basis and just one person per business or organisation will be
able to attend.
If you are unable to attend and/or you were not allocated a place at
either of these events, please send your comments to Paula Goncalves
at the above address or email them to:
<email obscured>.
The Issues and Options paper on which the consultation events are
based, will be available on the city council's website
www.brighton-hove.gov.uk from 19 May onwards. If you require a paper
copy of the document please will you indicate this on your response to
this invitation. In order to make best use of the time and the
contributions of all the people involved, the council kindly asks you
and your organisation to read the Issues and Options paper prior to
attending the meeting.
Yours sincerely
Paula Goncalves
