I said at the last Greater Bedminster Community Forum steering group that I
would organise a meeting about traffic/transport/slower speeds/20mph
limits/residential parking etc etc
Since then, I have been in touch with David Bishop (Director of Planning,
transport, sustainable development) who doubted that the council would know how
it intends to take forward Residents Parking until mid-July, and, knowing the
council, this could easily drop into August and peak-summer holidays (so a
meeting on this may well wait until September).
However, this is no reason not to pursue the slower speeds/20mph side of things
(although the council were, I believe, linking the two).
Can I therefore suggest a meeting-lite for
Wednesday 27th June 6pm ish, and if the weather is like to day, say the Yard at
the Tobacco Factory.
Failing that, I could do the Mon/Tue of that week, and even book a venue, if I
can.
Purpose of meeting: to discuss where to take the whole slower speed/20mph thing
from here in the Greater Bedminster area
Please let me (ie not the list) know if you would like to attend, and if any of
these dates work for you.
I have now moved this meeting to 6pm, Wednesday 4th July, and Alice has kindly
got us the Blue Room at the TF. (The Blue Room is at the top of the stairs on
the way into the theatre).
I don't anticipate this being formal - more a chat about what/whether/how/even
if to go forward with transport/traffic issues in the Greater Bemmie area
The issue that has received most interest is the Slower speeds/20mph limits.
Following last nights council meeting, I suspect Residents parking is moving
further off into the horizon. But I am sure there are other issues people may
wish to discuss.
