enjoying the summer so far. Work for me is going well. We have a Super Summer
program at the School I work at so there are a lot of kids in the building that
I am at. I still have to clean up after them. I wanted to see what you have
been up to. I am ready to get the 2014-2015 sports season going. It starts with
football in the fall. For me I am a football fan but I just started learning
about the game of football when I was in the tenth grade. I dont know if I
told you or not I managed sports in high school. I was the manager for my high
schools varsity boys basketball, football and baseball team throughout high
school. The football coach was also the baseball coach at the time. I have
always been into sports my whole life. When I was younger I used to play sports
for the Minneapolis Park Board. I went to all the basketball camps that I could
go to. I was young but I thought that I could play somewhere when I got older.
I played basketball through my eighth grade year in Jr. High. I went to a
school that was very small and then I knew that I didnt have the skillset to go
on and play basketball in high school so that is when I decided to hang up
playing basketball but then I got into the managing side of things. I had met
my high school basketball coach early on in my freshman year. I asked him about
me managing basketball for the team. He agreed and that is how I started being
a manager for basketball. During freshman year I was able to help out the
Athletic Director as I helped set up the field for varsity games and was around
to help with the cords that the coaches had with their out of date headsets. I
was around the football team my freshman year but I didnt start managing till
my sophomore year. During the summer of my sophomore year the football coach
was also a teacher at the high school so we talked about it would take for me
to be able to manage the football team. We talked and he said it was ok for me
to manage. So I became the manager. That same conversation took place before my
junior year at the start of the baseball season. I knew I wanted to be a part
of the team because I love to be around sports. At the time I didnt realize it
but I also had a lot of different friends and people I know that were involved
in sports at the time. So during my four years of high school I managed three
different varsity sports teams in the three different seasons. After I
graduated from high school I went on to a small junior college in Downtown
Minneapolis. At first I didnt know what I wanted to study so I took just
liberal arts courses to get my feet wet. Minneapolis Community and Technical
College also had a basketball team at the time and I met the basketball coach
during my senior year in high school. He told me that I had a spot on the team
as a manager. After three years of college my parents and I made the tough
choice that college wasnt the right place for me so I decided to look other
places. I took a year off and worked the summer at Walmart. Then my mom
suggested that I look into Job Corps. So I went into the Building and Apartment
Maintenance program and that is how I got my current job with the Minneapolis
Public Schools. I then I a friend a few years ago that helped my launch my web
site http://www.stevenssports.com Thats a little bit about me. Hope all is
well with you. Thanks and keep in touch.
